Humanity Ova Vanity (HOV) is a grassroots non-profit organization driven by a steadfast commitment to fostering meaningful connections between Corporate and Citizen social ‘response-ability’. Beginning with displaced residents from Petersfield High School Shelter, the hub will house up to 48 persons and include essential facilities such as medical care, recreation, child-safe spaces, and full infrastructure for sustainable living.

Makeda "Light" Bawn is a dynamic Creative Director, Philanthropist, and Brand Marketer who has made a significant impact in the culture and entertainment industry. She is also the founder of Kizzy Zabi Kids, a charity project-based organization dedicated to empowering children in Jamaica to achieve sustainable progress in overcoming illiteracy and poverty.
With a BA in Communication Arts and Technology from the University of Technology, JA, and an MS in Marketing from the prestigious University of Glasgow, Bawn brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her endeavors. Bawn's expertise extends to working with grassroots community groups, art & business collectives, as well as non-profit organizations, where she passionately uplifts and empowers communities.
Through her role as Creative Director for Humanity Ova Vanity and Wake Up Jamaica, as well as her dedication to Kizzy Zabi Kids, Bawn's contributions to the industry and her philanthropic work exemplify her as a true luminary.As Neiri's founder, she blends AI-driven innovation with creative strategies in Brand Consultation & Design, crafting impactful brands that drive lasting commercial success and shape industry futures.


Lesa Medhin is the Administrator at Humanity Ova Vanity. Lesa's administrative experience spans over 20 years with experience as a law clerk in personal injury law firms and office management within provincially mandated legal clinics in Ontario. In addition, Lesa is the owner of Ujamaa Consulting Services which specializes in grant and proposal writing for individual artists, grassroots community groups, collectives, and non profit organizations. Her consulting work also involves policy development, governance training and specialized training workshops for non-profit organizations and businesses.
As an author, Lesa has also published literature on topics related to the Black Feminist Theory, Critical Race Theory, Black motherhood and families, and Anti-Black Racism. Lesa holds a Law Clerk Diploma from Centennial College and a Diploma (Hons.) in Business Administration from the Toronto School of Business.


Meet Sheba M. Blaise, a dynamic human who seamlessly blends their Jamaican-Haitian heritage with a vibrant Canadian spirit. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Sheba now calls Toronto, ON, home.As a cultural ambassador and curator, Sheba is dedicated to bridging the gap between French and English communities and fostering unity. Serving as a connector, she actively contributes to community-based initiatives, emphasizing the importance of cultural empowerment and historical awareness.
Passionate about wellness, Sheba advocates for a holistic way of life. Beyond being a fashion model, she’s been involved in event curation, bringing people together through enriching experiences.
Sheba has been a Montreal representative of Stolen From Africa, a non-profit organization promoting cultural empowerment and historical awareness through fashion, music, community, and education. While being a music enthusiast, Sheba has worked for the Montreal Reggae Festival, Taste of the Caribbean and the Kalmunity music week festival in 2017 and 2018.
Sheba has also worked with youth at Maison des Jeunes Cote-des-Neiges and Jeunesse 2000 (Y2K), contributing to their growth and development in a positive environment. Additionally, she was a member at the UNIA Montreal chapter reflecting a dedication to social progress and positive change.


Michelle is a Toronto based entrepreneur, artist, event planner and highly experienced retail manager.
First generation Ethiopian/Salvadorian Canadian female, equality and cannabis advocate. Singer/Song writer and performer. Proud University of Toronto Alumna, Hon. BA. Double major in Sociology and Women's & Gender Studies. She uses the variety of experiences/skills she has to pursue her passions and to further help others, creating more opportunities for others in the community.


Fiona Scott is a dedicated researcher, ardent lover of reggae music, and an impassioned advocate for social justice. Her academic journey intertwines with her passion for music and the arts as transformative tools for societal change and individual well-being. Fiona strives to create a world where the arts serve as a powerful force for unity, healing, and justice. Her commitment to social justice extends beyond scholarly pursuits; she actively collaborates with grassroots organizations, leveraging the power of music and the arts to drive positive change.
